Research

Digitalization is a continuous process. We are curious, engaged, and we incessantly seek new knowledge. Therefore, you can be certain that our methods, models, and tools are constantly updated.
SEE THE TOOLS

Our Research Method

In our research, we use international research results, our research as well as our theoretical frameworks. The theoretical frameworks are based on more than 20 years of research experience. Our specific strength is to connect research and theory with practice.

The starting point for our research activities is predominantly hermeneutic and social constructivist, and we primarily use qualitative methods.

Research Areas

In terms of research, we feel at home in the following research areas:

  • Information Systems
  • Organization Theory
  • Management Research.

We are focused on developing an understanding of conceptualizing reality - and see it as our foremost task to develop and give others "concepts to comprehend with and theories to navigate from" and concerning the still ever more digital environments.

Shared Language

We are not telling anyone what to do. Instead, we are concerned with offering and giving others a “common language” and a conceptual understanding that enables them to understand and articulate their own reality, thus enabling them to make the right decisions for them in their digital conversion.

Shared Direction

In the meeting with others, it could be companies, organizations, management groups as well as managers and employees, we try to meet them where they are.

Kierkegaard is a daily inspiration to us when we develop new concepts and meet others.

Our Mission

Therefore, our mission is not to be futuristic, but to deal with technologies that are so mature that they apply in practice or are close to it, with a view to their interaction with strategy, organization, and leadership and the opportunities, challenges, and issues it becomes the occasion of.

In our research, we are specifically focused on how companies and organizations can increase their digital maturity. What does it require of the interplay between Strategy, Technology, Organization, and Leadership?

Also, we are concerned with what it takes in terms of organizational capabilities and of the leadership, to create value with digital technologies, IT, and data in companies and organizations in ever more digital and dynamic landscapes.

" That, if one is to truly succeed in leading a human being to a particular place, first and foremost one must take care to find him where he is and begin there."

Søren Kierkegaard

  • Technology is not the central focus

“This is a very readable and accessible book on what can be a complex and confusing topic, full of misunderstandings and hype.

Pernille Kræmmergaard manages to get to the essence of digital transformation by emphasizing that technology should not be the central focus, but a prerequisite for a more comprehensive transformation which first and foremost will make demands on your ways of thinking and leading. This book provides the lens with which to do this.”

  • With down-to-earth examples

“Pernille Kræmmergaard has put together a unique book for leading digital transformation in both private companies and public. […]

She has drawn on her many years of rich experience in executive teaching, consulting, and university research to produce a book that is triply thoughtful and forward looking, well-articulated with down-to-earth examples, and usefully applicable for practice. […] The book worries about both customers and citizens and brings a Danish humanistic perspective that is critical for the global post-Covid 2020s new normal.”

  • A well-spent investment to read

“This book is rather unusual. It is very concrete about something rather abstract: “Digital transformation”.

It focuses on a very complex phenomena – strategic transformation of large organizations - and makes it very simple and easy to understand. It is based on a sound theoretical foundation and at the same time very practical. In other words – this is an unusually well composed book.

I can recommend it to all leaders, consultants and researchers working with how to handle digital transformation. It is a well spent investment to read and reflect upon.”
